Today, Governor Steve Beshear signed into law two pro-gun bills. House Bill 308, with an NRA-supported amendment, will provide a pathway to restoring gun rights. House Bill 313 will allow for concealed carry in a vehicle’s installed compartment.
House Bill 308, sponsored by state Representative Bob Damron (D-39), will implement the federal NICS Improvements Amendments Act of 2007 by enabling persons who have lost their firearm rights because of a mental health-related commitment or adjudication to petition a court to have them restored. Before granting a petition, the court will have to find that the person is not likely to act in a manner that is dangerous to public safety and that granting the requested relief would not be contrary to the public interest. This bill will ensure that people who can safely and responsibly possess firearms are not unnecessarily deprived of their rights.
House Bill 313, sponsored by state Representative Will Coursey (D-6), will allow an individual to carry a loaded or unloaded firearm in an enclosed compartment originally installed by the manufacturer in a motor vehicle. The firearm will not be considered a concealed firearm under state law and the occupant will not need a concealed carry permit to transport a firearm in this manner. Previous law required a firearm to be stored in a glove compartment even though some vehicles do not come with one factory-installed.
Thank you to everyone who contacted their elected officials in support HB 308 and HB 313!
I got tired of there not being a Ventrilo client for iPhone, so I did something about it. I downloaded the Mangler SVN and built the iPhone client myself. I’ve uploaded it to a Cydia repo, but you have to be jailbroken to use it. Download it and give it a try. I am NOT updating the package on a regular bases, so if it breaks, you’re on your own. Have fun! Add the following repo to cydia: http://corridor9.net/cyrepo/ The Mangler package is in the now in the ModMyI repo. Just search for it.
I have stopped supporting Mangler. I no longer have the ability to build this as I no longer have a Hackintosh system. As such, the development has pretty much died. The source code is up on Github.com if you wish to take over development.
I submitted a new holster design to Comp-Tac today. Because each of these clips are meant to be used independently, they don’t align very well when used together. If a new clip can be made to fit within the green lines, that would allow the cant of the holster to be forward as designed, while still allowing the user to have a more stable platform. I’ll keep you updated on Comp-Tac’s response.

I looked through most of the IOS pictures and descriptions below and while I saw a lot of useful apps, I didn’t see anything that looked organized.
I like to have my IOS organized very cleanly, thus making it fairly easy to navigate without getting lost in a plethora of apps.
Starting with a calendar on the lockscreen (upper left) that allows me to view my upcoming appointments, holidays, birthdays, and work schedule at a glance without even needing to unlock.
Then, when I unlock (lower left) I have the 8 main apps I use spread out on the left side and in the dock. These are the apps that get clicked almost every day, and therefore deserve prime real estate. On the right side I have my folders organized as simply as I can. Also notice that the days weather, and the upcoming three days forecast, is displayed in the bottom middle of the screen. A script causes it to update every 10 minutes or on respring/reboot.
Because I only use 1 tab, I prefer to have all my apps in folders (lower right). This means that I need the ability to have folders inside folders (Folder Enhancer from Cydia), mostly for specific applications related to work (see HazMat).
The last panel (upper right) has the all necessary SBSettings tweaked out to my liking and with my own necessary buttons.
With this setup, I am able to do everything I need with a minimal amount of searching or swiping. As I’m not searching through page after page, or folder after folder, of apps I tend to get lest frustrated as well.
It’s a sad day when our children aren’t allowed to thank God for the blessings he provides.
With all the election content that’s been floating around online and TV, I thought I’d post a few that really make you think.
What a rainbow. Check the gallery for a few more.
