I broke the site tonight. I was trying to disable it like I would if I were renting it and didn’t pay my bill. I’m trying to work out the bugs. Who knows… maybe I’ll start my own webserver business.

Anyway, I got it back up within the hour, but there still may be quirks. I’ll remember not to press that delete button again. :-P

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

While I definitely would have been happy if it were a girl, the fact that it’s a boy is simply AWESOME! Now I won’t have to listen to the wife yelling at me for making a girl into a tom boy. I’ll have someone to camp with, hike with, fish with, hunt with, and all that general boy playing in the mud stuff!

Now, just 4 more months till he gets here and the fun starts!

Over the past few days, I’ve begun using the camera on my phone a bit more. Needless to say, I’ve added a few more albums in the photo gallery. Not being used to using my phone as a camera has made it hard to remember that I have a 2MP camera on my hip. I’ll try to make better use of this as time progresses.

No Longer a Firefighter

Well, it’s been a good run, approximately 8 years worth of playing with fire. However, due to some circumstances here at the fire department, I have been informed that I will no longer be playing with fire. Some changes have been made and my skills as a firefighter are no longer needed. While I will miss being first-in, and last-out, I’ll miss playing with the beast the most. There are just times when you know you’re calling, and staring that big red flame in the face was my calling.

So… as with all things in life, it’s time to move on.

It’s time to say goodbye to Firefighter Rescue.
It’s now time to say hello to Engineer Rescue.

After studying and working hard towards my goal, I was finally granted a promotion. I will no longer be on the nozzle, I will actually be driving the truck and making sure that my team has water to slay the beast with. This new position will also give me the opportunity to act as an officer when there is a position open. :-D

Saving Sadie

On February 22, 2008 we added a new addition to our family. She’s small, cute, hyper, furry, and from the Christian County Humane Society. Her name is Sadie, and she’s our new German Shepherd puppy.

For the past year or more, we’d been looking to adopt a dog. For those of you who have kept up with this blog, you know that the last 2 dogs we adopted didn’t work out for us. This one seems a perfect match. Not only is she healthy, all her vet paperwork is in order, she’s crate trained (though Kristie did have a bit of problem since she apparently isn’t kitchen trained. :-P ), and microchipped for easy tracking in case she ever gets lost. She doesn’t jump that much, and she is short enough that she can’t nip at Kristie’s face.

In all, she’s a wonderful addition. Already having a bit of training with sit, and down, she’s picking up heel well when we walk. There is still quite a bit of puppy in her as exhibited by her high level of hyperactivity, but that hasn’t been too much of a problem yet. She’ll likely grow out of that stage soon enough anyway.

You can see her adoption page here: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=10282823
Oh…. we didn’t keep the name Butters though. :-D
