Trip to nowhere
Saturday, Kristie and I decided to head to Evansville for a bit of time out of town. I had worked quite a bit the last two weeks because of all the callbacks I’ve been receiving. I had thought that maybe we’d go to Sam’s Club and look around. I wanted to get prices on some new tires for her car as they were getting a bit worn. We were also planning on having a wonderful dinner and maybe a movie.
However, all those plans abruptly changed as we crossed highway 60 in Henderson. We both heard the massive boom, and figured that the van next to us was having problems. As it continued to sound, Kristie mentioned to me that it was our car having the problems. I pulled over to the side and noticed that the passenger rear tire was smoking. Apparently the tires were a bit more worn than I thought. The rear tire was shredded, and I was forced to replace it with the spare.
Naturally, we went to Sam’s first to buy those new tires I was only thinking about earlier in the day. I’m glad that I was able to get these tires before the winter weather hit, and Kristie was glad I was driving instead of her. In the end both of us were glad in one way or another.
