What a Vacation!
Where’s the beach?
Gulf Shores of course! I didn’t have time to post our vacation plans prior to our leaving. As it turns out, I ended up getting the condo 2 days before, and didn’t even receive a confirmation till about 12 hours before heading out.
We weren’t going to go anywhere this year due to a number of factors, but being as how we hadn’t taken a vacation as a family to anywhere big, I though that we might as well fit one in before our situations change. Kristie and I thought that it would be nice to take the kids to the beach so we started looking around. In the end we calculated that with the cost of food and the lack of a kitchen, it would be more to stay at a hotel as it would for a condo.
I was surprised at how easy the whole process was. I had talked to a few guys from here at the station who were telling me that I would never find a place a week before, but after a few minutes of searching on the net I found a place that looked good. I looked around at a few more places, but none were as nice as the one Kristie and I found first. After a few clicks, we were ready to go.
We left out around midnight. I wanted to listen to some music while everyone was sleeping, and I figured I wouldn’t have to listen to the kids screaming “Are we there yet”! It wasn’t a bad drive, only about 10 hours. The trip back was easier than the trip down because we stopped in Nashville for a few hours to stretch our legs.
Everyone came back sun burnt, with Kristie and I taking the brunt of it. I figured that I would spend my vacation sleeping, so while they were on the beach, I was on the couch most of the time. It was so nice to just relax!
No pictures this time. I didn’t even feel like getting the camera out. Maybe it you’re lucky I’ll post some from Kendall’s camera. ![]()
